5 years of Helen 🎉

The glue. The organiser. The one who keeps everything (and everyone) on track.

From materials and permits to subcontractors and schedules - Helen is at the centre of it all. But it’s her energy that really sets her apart… bubbly, full of fun, and that laugh you can hear across the site (in the best way).

She brings the good vibes every single day - and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Throwing it back to one of our standout healthcare projects - Royal Perth Hospital’s Ward 2K.

Over 12 months, our team delivered the full electrical and communications package for a 20-bed Mental Health Unit - all inside a live hospital environment.

Power, lighting, data, fibre, CCTV, Nurse Call, fire services and critical backup systems - every component installed to strict anti-ligature standards.

Working around clinical teams and existing infrastructure isn’t simple. But that’s where good planning, great people and strong systems make all the difference.

We’re proud of what this project represents: proven capability in complex health infrastructure, delivered safely and without disruption.

Big job. High stakes. Exactly how we like it.

🤝Eight years. One strong partnership. 💪

We’re proud to have been working alongside Water Corporation for nearly a decade - supporting critical infrastructure across the state.

From projects at their Leederville Head Office to switchboard upgrades in Northam and Narrogin, our work has now expanded across metro and regional WA.

Over this period, we delivered a major data modernisation program across 63 sites statewide, with a team of six working at peak to keep everything running smoothly.

Electrical upgrades. Network infrastructure. Regional delivery. Long-term trust.

That’s the Global way.

This week we celebrate International Women’s Day and shine a light on the incredible women helping shape our industry.

Meet Kailian Miller, one of our Estimators at Global Cabling.

Kailian’s journey started with a love of physics (and a dad who’s an electrician!). What’s kept her here is the variety and opportunity the electrical industry offers.

When we asked her what balancing the scales means, she didn’t hesitate:

✨ Women are already proving they belong.
✨ We need more workplaces that genuinely support women.
✨ Young girls need to see that this industry is open to them.

She says one of the most rewarding parts of her career is training apprentices and watching the next generation succeed.

And to any woman unsure about stepping into electrical or construction?

“Absolutely go for it! It’s the best thing I ever did.”

Another job switched on and delivered.

Our team recently completed a Siemon Cat6A data install for Galloway Electrical Contractors for the WA Government - and it’s one we’re proud to share.

The project involved installing 133 screened data runs in two colour-coded systems to separate departments, plus relocating an existing comms rack to suit the new layout. Careful planning and tidy ex*****on meant the work was completed efficiently with minimal disruption.

Big shout out to the team for another quality outcome. Safe to say this one had plenty of positive energy from start to finish.

It's been a busy start to the year for our Global team with a number of incredible spaces close to completion - from training the next generation to strengthening WA’s critical health networks.

Here’s a look at what our team has being doing:
⚡ Training Centre
We're delivering a full electrical, lighting and data fitout for a new training centre for a Tier 1 mining client. We’re working with Swan Group - a partnership that’s been going strong for more than 20 years. It’s always special working with long-term clients who feel more like family.

⚡ Government Comms Infrastructure
We've also been involved in one of five major stages to upgrade communications infrastructure across Perth’s hospitals. Our team is upgrading the fibre cabling, power systems and UPS networks to support safer, more resilient digital systems.

We're looking forward to handing over these two projects in the coming weeks.
