Today we installed a new weatherproof power point for our friends at luv2plumb1 ⚡

During testing we discovered the safety switch wasn’t operating correctly. After discussing the risks, the client chose to upgrade the switchboard for improved safety and protection.

⚠️ What started as a simple PowerPoint installation turned into a major electrical fault find.

During testing, we detected dangerous current flowing through the earthing system — a clear sign of a serious main neutral fault.

Even more concerning, there was no main earthing conductor installed. This meant electrical current was finding its way back through the building’s earthing system and even the copper water pipes.

We immediately contacted the power authority, who disconnected the supply while we carried out emergency repairs to the main fuse box and made the installation safe.

This is exactly why electrical testing is so important. Faults like this can go unnoticed for years and have potentially fatal consequences. ☠️⚡
