Changes to Queensland smoke alarm laws are imminent.

From January 1, 2022 it will be mandatory for all Queensland rental properties, and properties sold, to have smoke alarms installed in each bedroom, and all smoke alarms interconnected.

Master Electricians have access to a Smoke Alarm Installation record that can be completed for real estate agents and landlords. The MEA Technical Team can provide guidance around the new restrictions. Phone 1300 889 198.
