Here's a couple of photos of why DIY isn't a smart move when it comes to electricity. The first two photos are the result of the conductors transposed in an rcd. Luckily it only melted and they lost power, worst case could have been a switchboard fire.
Third photo is an emergency stop button on a machine, while wired correctly the terminal was loose causing a bad connection, no cable entry with sharp metal edges cutting cable insulation and lastly the cable was not supported allowing it to cut on the metel.
Not only can these issues cause serious personal injury and property damage but in the event of an incident insurance company's want proof the work has been completed by a licensed electrical contractor issueing a safety certificate. Just a bit of food for thought, feel free to contact us if you need any electrical work. Have a great weekend.
