Reminder to check those smoke alarms! 🚨

Don't forget to check the batteries in your smoke alarm when you change the clocks.

Even if your smoke alarm is wired to mains power, a battery is essential in case of power outages.
While you’re there, check the smoke alarms date of manufacture. If your smoke alarm is 10 years old, it’s time to replace it.

Only working smoke alarms can save lives.

Last month marked 100 years of the stobie pole!

At the time, wooden poles were commonly used for electricity networks but proved impractical due to their short lifespan and importing from interstate. In response, James 'Cyril' Stobie, an engineer with the Adelaide Electric Company, created a more durable solution: a steel and concrete pole that was resistant to termites and fire. His innovative design was patented in July 1924.

Stobie poles are still produced exclusively by SA Power Networks at the Angle Park facility. The largely automated process manufactures up to 24 poles daily. With approximately 650,000 Stobie poles in South Australia, this innovation has significantly reduced the reliance on wood.

✔️ call us to replace if past 10 years of age or your unsure! 🤓
