A new customer moved into the area and was greeted by some heavy plumbing issues at her newly bought. In the process of fixing it, the plumber also pulled up 2 decent sections of her brick patio and side path.

I don’t consider myself a landscaper, paver and/or certainly no sculptor of bricks, but I’m pretty happy with how this came out, and more importantly so was my customer! Enjoy your re-newed patio!

The pre-property-sale jobs have been a bit of a theme lately. A Maidstone couple who have their first open booked today needed their ceiling repaired after a long saga with their body corporate after plumbing works caused by a leaking sky light. Pretty straight forward one I thought…

My alarm bells should have been ringing when it took 3 attempts to get the battons for the new plaster in because the old plaster around it kept breaking (what’s that saying about your strengths can also be your weaknesses - some of mine are tenacity and optimism) But after longer than expected, I got it done: patched up, sealed/primed and painted… was really happy with the finish too…

5:15pm and finally ready to finish cleaning up and head home… just need to screw that vent back in and I’ll be on my way… and that’s when the extent of the water damage really revealed itself as the fixtures and surrounding plaster completely disintegrated. Didn’t matter how many times I rotated that vent, or what different fixtures, plugs or toggles I tried, that vent kept pulling new chunks of plaster down with it. By this stage my beautiful plaster patch and paint was also looking worse for wear. My customers had their first open booked today, I had another job already booked (you guessed it - pre-open plaster repairs). I couldn’t leave them like this… an 11:30pm (!!!) finish including some quality time spent up in the manhole later, we got there.

In hindsite it would have been easier and probably quicker to just cut the whole ceiling and start again. You win or you learn…

Needs one more coat to properly finish it (again!!) which the owner kindly agreed to handle as by that stage I was making up my own language 🥴 Good luck with the sale! Pass me the Voltarin

I said to a mate recently “I don’t do a heap of flat pack jobs” and then BAM! The flat pack gods delivered me 3 in the space of a week! 😂

1) A couple of bunk beds for a lovely family in Oak Park
2) a sauna (including getting the sections up 3 flights of stairs 😳 - thanks to the fellow hubby who gave me a hand!) for a very nice lady in Kensington
