Out with the old and in with the new!

Our team recently removed an old, deteriorated skylight and replaced it with a brand-new 800mm x 800mm Skydome skylight.

We carefully removed the existing skylight, prepared and inspected the surrounding roof area, and securely installed and sealed the new Skydome. The surrounding roof tiles were then checked and reinstated to ensure proper drainage and a neat, weather-resistant finish.

The new skylight has refreshed the roof, improved the natural light entering the home and helped protect the property from water entry.

🏠 RIDGE CAP REPAIRS IN GIRRAWEEN, NSW 2145

Our team recently completed the rebedding and repointing of 13 ridge caps on this tiled roof in Girraween.

The existing pointing had begun to deteriorate and separate from the roof tiles, with large cracks developing along the ridge capping. If left unrepaired, damaged pointing can cause ridge caps to become loose and create areas where rainwater may enter the roof.

We carefully removed the affected ridge caps and deteriorated bedding material before securely resetting the caps into fresh mortar. They were then finished with durable, flexible pointing to create a strong, neat and weather-resistant seal.

Our team recently replaced deteriorated lead flashing around a sewer vent pipe on a tiled roof in North Rocks. The old flashing was no longer providing a reliable watertight seal, leaving the roof vulnerable to water entering around the pipe.

VALLEY REPLACEMENT COMPLETED IN GREYSTANES, NSW 2145

The team at 2 OLD ROOFERS recently completed a roof valley replacement on a cement-tiled roof in Greystanes. Roof valleys are responsible for directing large volumes of rainwater safely into the gutters. When a valley becomes rusted, damaged, blocked or incorrectly installed, water can overflow beneath the roof tiles and cause leaks, timber damage, mould and internal ceiling damage.

A fallen tree caused some serious damage to this tiled roof in Rydalmere.

The damaged section needed more than just a few replacement tiles, so we stripped the area back and completed the repairs properly, including:

Another roof leak successfully repaired in Greystanes NSW 2145! 👷🔨

This home had an ongoing roof leak where the tiled roof met the adjoining metal roof. After carrying out a thorough inspection, we found the existing tile flashing had deteriorated, allowing rainwater to track underneath the roof tiles during heavy rain.

Our team removed the old flashing and supplied and installed a brand-new custom tile flashing, creating a durable, watertight seal between the tile and metal roof sections. We also inspected the surrounding roof to ensure there were no other issues contributing to the leak.
