Australia's Housing Shortage Has a Materials Problem. Here's One Answer. 🧱⏱️🏠
Conventional builds in WA - double brick and long trade chains - are being stretched to 18-24 month timelines while costs and waitlists climb. Our new post shows a practical alternative: factory-made SIPs (Structural Insulated panels) that arrive pre-cut and engineered, lock up a shell within a week and typically finish a full build in 3-6 months.
SIPs also deliver performance: homes hitting 7-10 star NatHERS ratings, an EPS cores that reduces thermal bridging, and airtightness around 0.5 ACH - roughly 10× better than a typical code-minimum home. For owner builders and developers, that means lower holding costs, fewer trade delays and homes that run cheaper to heat and cool.

Australia is short on housing, trades, and time. We look at why conventional construction is struggling to keep up and how SIPs construction is helping owner-builders and developers move faster and build smarter.
