What can you do with the space above a garage?

For this Como project, we added space above the existing garage into a separate little home.

Capitalising on existing real estate which would have otherwise gone unused, we wanted to make the most of what was available. The challenge was fitting everything our clients needed into the space without it feeling cramped.

We loved the challenge and are really happy with how it came together. We managed to fit in a bedroom/living area, kitchen and combined bathroom and laundry, while keeping the space comfortable and functional.

We think we did pretty well!

Project flashback

A little look back at this beautiful extension and renovation we designed in Karrinyup.

At the front of the home, we created an outdoor space that works with the existing tree canopy and creates a lovely connection between the inside and out. Imagine sitting here with a cup of tea and a good book – bliss.

Inside, the extension gave the home a much more generous dining and sitting area, while keeping the overall look clean, modern and minimal with a simple white and timber palette.

The new spaces were designed to blend seamlessly with the existing home, making the extension feel like it had always been there.

A calm considered space that feels connected from front to back, with a timeless design that won’t date.

Exciting home improvement project

We’re excited to share this home transformation project — a considered extension and facade upgrade designed to enhance both the functionality and street appeal of this property.

The design includes a new large garage to provide additional storage, the conversion of the existing carport into a secure garage, a dedicated bin storage area, and a new driveway to improve access and complete the exterior upgrade.

To give the home a fresh new identity, we also redesigned the facade with contemporary weatherboard cladding, creating a cohesive and welcoming exterior while complementing the new additions.

Our approach was to create a practical, stylish solution tailored to the homeowners’ needs while adding long-term value and character to the property.

West Leederville | Character Home Extension

Renovating a character home is about preserving its original charm while creating spaces that support modern living.

For our West Leederville project, we designed an extension that thoughtfully reimagines the way the home connects and functions. The design introduced a new main bedroom and ensuite, a dedicated alfresco area, and transformed the original main bedroom into a new living space.

Carefully planned to strengthen the connection between indoors and outdoors, the result is a home with improved flow, greater flexibility, and a renewed connection to the outdoors, while respecting the character and history of the original home.
