🧱 TUESDAY WAS ALL ABOUT GETTING THE DAY IN 😜😂

Today’s job wasn’t actually supposed to be ready until tomorrow.

No cement.
No scaffold.
No door frames.
Not much really. 😂

Everything was due to arrive tomorrow, but we couldn’t finish Yanchep because we were still waiting on the front window frame and some extra maxis.

And with tomorrow looking like a complete washout, I was determined we were getting a day in somehow. 😂💪

So we collected scaffold and cement from another job, loaded the van up and basically just made it work with what we had. 🧱😂

Considering what we started with this morning, we actually did pretty well and got a fair bit built. 👌

And amongst all that, we managed to try out one of the new string lines from BT Engineering as well. 👀🧱 Let’s see how that goes. 👍😂

And now, of course, tomorrow’s forecast has changed and it looks like we might actually get another day in. 🤔😂🌤️

Even better — the Yanchep window frame has JUST arrived. 🥳🥳

So we’ll be heading back there tomorrow to hopefully get that one moving again.

Thanks Dowells. 😂👍

Although… you’re not going to believe this.

Have a look at how the front elevation on TODAY’S job was left down. 👀😂

Dowells have done it again.

This time it’s not bent.
It’s not twisted.

IT’S JUST COMPLETELY THE WRONG FRAME. 😂😂😂

That’s now 3 jobs in a row. 😩😂

You honestly couldn’t make it up. 🧱😂

🧱 DAY 3 — YANCHEP 👀

Not too bad a day for a Monday. 😂👌

Got most of the walls up that I wanted to and there’s not a lot of maxis left onsite now, so we’re getting very close to finishing this one. 💪🧱

Unfortunately, the replacement front window frame that was originally delivered bent still never arrived today. 😩😂

That means we can’t finish the front elevation, and there’s quite a bit of high work on this one with T-bars. We can’t really book the crane or push much further until Dowells get that frame out to us.

And to top it off, the water is being switched off for most of the day tomorrow. 😂🤦‍♂️

So we’ve packed everything up and we’re heading up to Two Rocks tomorrow to start another job. 🧱

We’ll come back and get this one finished once the window frame finally lands. 👀😂

And if you’re wondering who’s doing the singing in the background… that’s Ryder, our apprentice, doing the filming. 😂😂

Hasn’t he got a lovely voice. 🎤😂👍

Hopefully we’re not waiting another week for that frame. 🤞😂

🧱 DEFINITELY A SUNDAY TO FORGET 😩😂

Me and Tyson were literally heading out this morning to pick up our gear from one job and drop it at another ready for a possible Tuesday start.

Nice easy Sunday… or so I thought. 😂

While we were there I thought I’d have a quick walk around and check everything over.

First thing I found — a 720 bedroom door frame had been installed where there should have been an 820. 😩

Then I spotted a brick lintel sitting on 27c when it should have been on 25c. 😂🤦‍♂️

So the quick Sunday gear move turned into pretty much a full day of cutting out, pulling down and putting things right.

Not exactly how I planned on spending my Sunday, especially when I was hoping to chill out and catch up on yesterday’s Premier League. ⚽️😂

I’ve still deliberately managed to avoid all the scores somehow, so NO SPOILERS! 😂😂

I know most people only post the good days, but I’ve always tried to keep this page pretty real. Not every day onsite goes to plan — and if someone tells you theirs always does, they’re probably telling porkies. 😂😂

Mistakes happen onsite — especially when you’ve got a crew working across a job. The important thing is finding them, owning them and fixing them before the job moves any further.

Everything sorted now. 👌🧱

I think next Sunday I’ll just stay home. 😂🍺

🧱 DAY 2 — YANCHEP 👀

Another pretty productive day on this one. 💪🧱

Starting to look a bit more like a house now. 😂

Plenty of walls up, door frames in and lintels going on. Still plenty to get through, but not bad progress for the first couple of days. 👌

Unfortunately, we have to leave this one for now and head back to Bullsbrook tomorrow.

There’s not a massive amount left to do there, so I’ve decided to take most of the team, smash it out and hopefully get everyone an early finish. 😂👌

Because let’s face it… everybody loves an early finish on a Friday with a full day’s pay. 😂💰

And the boys definitely deserve it after the graft they’ve put in over the last couple of days. 💪🧱

Then it’ll be back to Yanchep to keep this one moving. 👀

🧱 RETRACTABLE JOINTER 😂

Can’t lose it. Never looking for it. Always by your side. 😂😂

The only way to joint up. 👌🧱

🧱 DAY 1 — YANCHEP 👀

Pretty productive first day on this one. 👌🧱

A couple of showers tried to slow us down, but nothing too serious. 🌧️😂

And this is exactly where having the van comes in handy… rain starts, tools down and the whole crew piles in for smoko until it passes. 😂🚐

We also found another bent frame. 😩 That’s now 2 jobs in a row.

Hopefully Dowells don’t take 8 days to sort this one out like the last one. 😂🤞

Rain, bent frame and all… we still got a decent amount done.

All in all, not a bad Day 1. 👌🧱

🧱 A DAY ONSITE 👀

Bit of everything happening today — grey, cream AND white mortar. 😂🧱

We struggled a bit with the scaffold because everyone seemed to need it at the same time, so keeping everything moving was a bit of a mission. 😂

That was really down to having to wait just over a week for the front window frame. Otherwise the front elevation would’ve been finished last week and today would’ve been a hell of a lot easier. 😂

Anyway… we almost got there. 👌

In the end we were 2 lintels short and needed another 2 packs of 2c face bricks.

And I know we’ve probably all done it at some point… but if you’re going to pinch a lintel from someone else’s job, at least leave them a note. 😂

“Sorry mate, I took the bedroom lintel.” 🤣🤣

Would’ve saved us looking for the bloody thing. 😂

So we’re back here Friday now to hopefully finish it off if everything goes to plan. 🤞🧱

Bit of a different reel from me this one — just over 4 minutes, nothing sped up, no added audio. Just a day onsite as it happened. 👌

17/08/2026

🧱 ALWAYS THINKING ABOUT THE NEXT DAY 👀

The wet area was absolutely full of water after all the rain. 🌧️😂

The job was local, so I jumped in the van and ground a couple of slots in the slab edge to let the water drain away. 👌

Probably should’ve done it before the rain… but anyway. 😂😂

Hopefully by the time we’re back and ready to work, it’s drained out and we’re not wasting half the morning trying to get rid of it. 😂👌

Sometimes it’s the little things you do today that make tomorrow that bit easier. 🧱💪
