One of our favourite features making its way into so many new homes right now? The butler’s pantry ☕

It’s become a real game changer in modern home design, keeping the main kitchen clean and clutter-free while giving you that extra space for prep, storage, appliances, and all the behind-the-scenes mess that comes with family life and entertaining.

Whether it’s hiding the coffee machine, storing bulk groceries, or having a second sink for busy mornings, the butler’s pantry just makes everyday living feel that little bit easier (and a lot more organised).

It’s also perfect when you’re hosting, you can prep, serve, and clean up out of sight while the main kitchen stays looking its best.

For us, it’s not just about adding space, it’s about making homes more functional for real life.

Would you include a butler’s pantry in your dream home?

Roofing progress is really taking shape at our Nedlands extension project.

This reel captures the structure coming together as the roof installation moves forward, marking a key milestone in the build.

Great to see the transformation from framework to a defined form that’s starting to feel like a home.

More updates to come as we continue bringing this project to life.

Winter ⛈️ in WA might not bring snow, but it definitely brings rain, wind and the kind of weather that can expose small issues in your home before they become big ones.

Here are a few simple winter maintenance tips to keep your home in good shape:
Check gutters and downpipes are clear of leaves and debris so water can flow freely during heavy rain. Inspect roof tiles or metal roofing for any signs of damage or loose fittings. Look around windows and doors for gaps or worn seals that could let in drafts and moisture. Make sure outdoor drains are not blocked and water is draining away from your home properly. Trim back overhanging trees and branches to reduce storm damage risk.

A little maintenance now can save costly repairs later in the year.

If you’re unsure what to look for, a quick pre-winter inspection by a professional builder is always a smart move.

🌿 Heritage | History | Building the Future

At Cloudbreak WA, building isn’t just what we do; it’s part of a much bigger story.
Director Darryn Stone comes from a family with deep roots in Western Australia’s early colonial history. One of his ancestors, George Frederick Stone (1812–1875), arrived in the Swan River Colony in 1831 and became one of its most influential early legal figures. Over time, he served as Attorney-General of Western Australia and held multiple key public roles that helped shape the colony’s early governance and infrastructure systems.

Arriving in a fledgling settlement that was still being established, George Frederick Stone was part of the generation that helped lay the foundations for the systems and structures that supported the growth of Western Australia.

His legacy continued through generations, with his descendants contributing across law, public service, and community leadership in WA.

Today, that same sense of commitment to building strong foundations lives on through Cloudbreak WA, delivering homes and projects that are built with care, purpose, and pride across Western Australia.

From early settlement to modern construction, the connection remains clear:
WA has always been built by people who put in the work to shape its future.

🚜 Progress is underway at Oakford!

Following our recent groundbreaking, earthworks are now in full swing with underground power installation underway for the new fire station at Oakford.

It’s great to see this important community project moving ahead as we help deliver a purpose-built facility for Oakford Volunteer Fire Brigade and the Shire of Serpentine-Jarrahdale.

Every stage brings us one step closer to creating a space that will support the incredible volunteers who help protect the local community. 🔥🏗️

Building Tip | Don’t Overlook Bushfire & Local Planning Requirements

Before buying land or finalising your plans, it’s important to understand the local building requirements that could impact your project.

Many areas across WA fall within bushfire-prone zones, which can affect your design, materials, approvals and overall build costs.

Things to check early:
✔️ Bushfire Attack Level (BAL) assessment
✔️ Local council planning requirements
✔️ Approved building materials and glazing requirements
✔️ Compliance standards that may affect design choices

Doing your homework early can help avoid costly changes and delays later in the build process.

A well-planned build starts long before construction begins. 🏡
