When you put braid onto a spool, this doesn’t cut it.
The customer brought the reel in saying it had a problem, but the line was on loose, it was spinning on the spool, and had burried into itself so badly that I had to cut the line off.

If you dont have the means to spool your reel correctly, just pop into a tackle shop to get it done.

Also, I discovered you can spool up too tight. One reel I had in last week actually compressed the Saragosa 25k spool, and the black screw‐on drag washers cover under the spool started to fall off the threads.

I am slightly concerned as to why the locating pin in this Talica shaft is so small, barely clearing the sides of the shaft, while every other reel with the same design is much longer.

My concerns may be unrealistic 🤔🤔🤔

Maybe an engineer can comment.

Unfortunately, this one spent some time sightseeing at the bottom of the ocean.

The best thing to do in this instance is to drop it in a bucket of fresh water and take it in to get serviced asap.

This Certate felt slightly askew. The client couldn't tell, but it wasn't 100% anymore, and he was only initially after a line roller repair.

It took some convincing, and after opening it, it was evident that the reel had water right thru it, and all the bearings were corroded.

If this had been left as it was, the clutch would have rusted, and the main gear would have corroded, meaning a vastly more expensive repair job in the future.

These reels are not waterproof and should not be treated as such.

Marketing hype around magseal tends to lead people in the wrong direction when it comes to water resistance.

The best thing to do is to assume that water is acid and dont get it on your reels.
Obviously, it'll happen, but at least you are aware of the consequences.

The bearing retaining clip has spun around and contacts the idle gear.

The main shaft has rusted into the side plate bearing.It's a bit tricky to get unstuck.
