As winter begins, your heating system will operate more intensively in temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius. To ensure optimal performance, the system will automatically initiate defrost mode if the outdoor coil becomes frozen. To minimize system strain and optimize energy usage, consider reducing the temperature setpoint by 2-3 degrees, such as from 23 degrees to 20 or 21 degrees. This adjustment will decrease operational demands and result in cost savings on heating expenditures. Inspect and clean your return air filters and confirm that airflow is not restricted.
