When most people think of hot water systems, they immediately think of gas, electric and perhaps solar, but there is so much more variety to choose from than you first think. This is a Wulfe electric heat pump system which I recently installed for a client. A traditional electric hot water system is rather like a large kettle, using the electricity to directly heat the water. A heat pump works by transferring heat from the environment into the water. Electricity is expended in keeping the refrigerant hot, not the water itself. This indirect use of electricity results in significant energy savings which is good for the environment and for your pocket!

In a housing estate less than 9 years old, this is the Puretec Whole House Filtration System's evidence of the nasty contaminants in our water supply.
