For the last 12 months Hawkeye Services have been delighted to provide survey to valued client PS Structures at their state-of-the-art Science and Engineering Building redevelopment at Hale School in Wembley Downs.
The two-storey $30 million facility, designed by Kerry Hill Architects will provide students with
dedicated STEM-based classrooms, prep labs and workshops that foster engaged learning in the fields of science, biology, physics, mathematics, and engineering.
It’s been a pleasure to watch the facility take shape as we’ve provided survey tasks from construction commencement including set outs of gridlines, holding down bolts, columns and base plate calculations. All the usual facility requirements such as electrical and plumbing service set outs, hydraulic riser set outs, stair set outs, lift shaft pickups, roof steel set out, elevator ascons, pre and post concrete pour monitoring and pre-cast beam monitoring. The tasks are many and varied on a commercial construction project such as this. What makes it
unique is the beautiful design and the efficiency of the project management that has seen the building seamlessly come to life amidst a busy fully operational school campus – perhaps offering some inspiration of what can be achieved by driven individuals when they excel in their studies of mathematics, engineering and physics.
As this building nears completion we look forward to providing critical survey tasks to bring our client’s next modern and inspiring facility to life, and we have no doubt about the powerful legacy this one will provide for the students, teachers and families of Hale School.
