A considered reworking of form, level, and outlook.
Originally built in 2009, the external spaces lacked cohesion — the entry sequence felt flat, planter boxes underperformed, and the connection between alfresco and pool was unresolved, with an overbearing outlook to the neighbouring shed.
The design introduces a refined colour palette, softening the façade, while stone-clad planters, composite timber decking, and overhead steel elements bring texture, warmth, and definition to the arrival.
To the rear, the alfresco is redefined as a dedicated outdoor cooking zone. The removal of the existing poolside water feature allowed for increased wall height, introducing stone cladding for textural depth while screening the neighbouring view. Hanging planter boxes beyond soften the built form and add a layered green backdrop.
Level inconsistencies are resolved through a continuous deck, creating a seamless transition to the pool and a usable spill-out space, complemented by a louvred roof for flexible shelter.
A previously underutilised area to the rear is reimagined as a secondary retreat, ensuring the entire site is resolved with clarity and intent.
