Recent updates to Australia’s home battery rebate program mean the value of incentives will start reducing from 1 May 2026, particularly for larger battery systems.

Government changes will adjust how rebates are calculated, with support tapering faster and declining more frequently over time. (DCCEEW)

This means households installing batteries earlier may secure a higher rebate value before the changes take effect.
