COVID-19 panic:
Shoppers have been opting for items like paper towels and wet wipes as alternatives.

Here’s what you can and can’t flush
down the toilet.

•Paper Towels and Tissues
•Baby wipes
•Menstrual products
•Cotton balls, pads and tips
•Nappies

Some products, expand in water and could be too big to get down the drain, but on the off-chance that you can and do, it’ll expand or clump together and get caught in your pipes and can be costly it’s better to put these items in the bin.

You may think paper towels and tissues aren’t that different from toilet paper, but they’re simply not designed to break down the way toilet paper does. If you feel the need to use paper towels or tissues for any reason, do the right thing and put it in the bin instead.

Flushing the wrong items down the toilet, causes toxic environmental pollution!

⚠️In light of the current toilet paper crisis there has been an increase in flexible hoses with spray heads being fitted adjacent to new and existing toilet pans, there is some confusion regarding the type of backflow device that needs to be fitted.

⚠️If the flexible hose has the capability to enter the toilet pan and remains lodged below the rim of the pan, This practice creates a risk of cross contamination between substances which are of high hazard to human health and the drinking water supply❗️⁉️⚠️

The danger of cross contamination from this installation should be removed by installing a backflow protection device these need to be installed by a licensed Plumber and in accordance with AS/NZS 3500.1:2018, clause 4.6.
