Anyone looking for a quiet place to take the kids, Churchman Brook Dam is worth a look.

There’s a nicely designed playground, picnic areas and plenty of space for the kids to run around. Lots of birds to spot too, including wood ducks and red-tailed black cockatoos.

Today was Open Garden Day in Darlington!

We visited five beautiful gardens, each with its own unique style, yet all sharing that lush, abundant greenery and relaxed, versatile cottage-garden charm.

Absolute favourite was a stunning elevated garden featuring a natural swimming pond and stony retaining walls - so much inspiration this day.

Found a few beautiful Pixie Mops (Pertrophile linearis) yesterday at The Spectacles. A small native flowering shrub, Proteaceae family.
The Spectacles is a wetland and bushland area in Beeliar Regional Park, just south of Perth in Kwinana.

Happy to see a few Carnaby’s Black-Cockatoos visiting our garden! 🖤🤍

They were enjoying some fresh new shoots from the Cape lilac tree. 🌿

A little interesting fact: Carnaby’s Black-Cockatoos can live for up to 35, and sometimes even 50 years. Sadly, they are a threatened species, mainly due to habitat loss and the clearing of native vegetation.
