"Usually, if we aren't on the same page, we just work it out together."

For Leading Hand Formworker Loughlin, clear communication is what keeps a high-pressure site running smoothly. Having worked his way up from a formworker role, he now pays that support forward by helping the wider team stay aligned on every pour.

It is a culture of mutual respect and shared goals that makes Westforce the best to work for, and with. We ensure the job gets done right the first time by looking out for our mates and staying focused on the task at hand.

Mike Murrey established Westforce Construction in 2006, with Paddy & Phil as his first two engineers onboard. He started the business on the values of integrity and personal accountability, ensuring a strong operational presence on every site, with a steadfast focus on practical, delivery-first civil construction.

This foundation of hard work and clear communication allowed Westforce to grow from a small local outfit into a trusted partner for the resources and infrastructure sectors in Western Australia.
While the business has grown significantly over the last 20 years, we continue to be guided by these original values as we deliver for our partners across the state.

2026 marks a major milestone for Westforce Construction as we officially celebrate 20 years in business.

To kick off our trip down memory lane, we are looking back at our first premises in Bayswater. In 2006, Westforce consisted of a small crew of fewer than ten people on-site. Our original team of carpenters and engineers established our reputation by getting stuck into the hard work of tying steel and pushing barrows to get the job done.

Today, we are 300 strong and operating out of our new headquarters in Welshpool. While the scale of our projects has grown, that original can-do attitude remains at the heart of our operations.

Our success over the past two decades is a result of the people who have progressed from the field into leadership roles and the authentic partnerships we have maintained along the way.

Here is to the last 20 years and the many more to come.

Age is just a number when it comes to teamwork. ⚽️

Some of our crew recently swapped the safety gear for football boots at the Football West Corporate Cup.

We put up a solid fight on the pitch, walking away with two wins and two draws before just missing out on third place in a penalty play-off. The true highlight of the day was out in the community, with the undisputed Player of the Day award going to a very special guest. Our Operations Manager’s 68-year-old dad did not hesitate to get out there and play every match with the team!

Proud to get the team together like this and support local WA events at the same time.

From moving across the world to mastering heavy machinery, Emma’s first year at Westforce has been massive.

Starting as an operator, she is already upskilling on the telehandler and front-end loader. We take pride in supporting our people to expand their capabilities and take on new challenges. For Emma, the highlight is our culture of looking out for one another.

Today we’re recognising the mums behind the Westforce crew.

The mums in our team.
The mums holding things down at home while their partners are away.
And the mums who raised the people we work alongside every day.

We know the role you play never stops.
Thanks for everything you do. Happy Mother’s Day.

Not every job gives you a clean slate.

The West Perth Cook Street Substation Expansion meant working within a live environment, supporting critical power infrastructure in the middle of a constrained site.

Key elements of the project (so far) included:
• Bulk and detailed earthworks across the site
• Civil and concrete works for new infrastructure and foundations
• Installation of large precast elements and sheet piling to support the build

Delivered in stages, with a focus on coordination, safety, and keeping everything moving around an operational asset.

The Westforce Waterboys are taking on the Pipeline Challenge!

Phil, Renier, Sean, Gerard, and Jason are currently pedalling 600km from the Kalgoorlie red dirt to the Perth Hills. It’s a massive effort in the saddle, all to raise funds for Youth Futures and at-risk young people in WA.

The team has already raised $11,500, but they’re not slowing down until they hit the finish line this Sunday.
We’re proud to see the lads getting out there and putting in the work for a great cause.
