This is why I sold all my nightvision scopes.
Acquiring a target is fast with the thermal.

Nightvision requires an animal to be looking at you to get the eyeshine. If they are looking away finding them in the scrub is difficult.

A closer shot would have been ideal, but with the number of roos there was no way I was able to get it without spooking everything infront of me.
Either way the shot went in its ear and it was instant sleepy time for the boar.
I find that these big lone wandering boars are more active on these windy nights.

When the canola is up its much more difficult to locate the smaller oinkers, but there was no missing this boar.Perfect ...
