Rain for days and not enough solar to charge the battery? No worries! 🌧️🔋

Our Urangan customers are using Ergon’s Solar Soaker tariff and scheduled charging to power their home and top up their 64 kWh battery with cheaper daytime electricity.

Between 11am and 4pm, electricity costs approximately 7c/kWh:

⚡ 64 kWh × $0.07 = $4.48*

Have a battery? We highly recommend reviewing your electricity tariff! ☀️🔋

Ergon’s Solar Soaker (12E) and Solar Sharer (12F) offer cheaper daytime electricity and BOTH have lower daily service fees than standard Tariff 11.

☀️ Solar Soaker: approximately 7c/kWh from 11am–4pm.
☀️ Solar Sharer: free electricity from 11am–2pm, up to 24 kWh daily.*

Battery owners can benefit by using stored energy during the more expensive 4–9pm peak. The right tariff depends on your household usage and battery settings.

Grid out, solar still going! 🌧️☀️🔋

During today’s Point Vernon outage, this customer’s Sigenergy system was keeping their home powered even in the overcast, rainy weather!

At the time of this screenshot:
☀️ Solar producing 4.3 kW
🏡 Home using 0.9 kW
🔋 Battery charging at 3.4 kW, with 90.4% already stored

Enough solar to power the home AND top up the battery while the grid was down. 🙌

Out with the old, in with the new! ☀️💪

The guys certainly felt summer coming on with this one! 🥵

We removed around 50 old solar panels, along with the existing tilt stands and mounting hardware, before installing new PHONO 475 W panels on brand-new tilt stands, paired with a new Sungrow 10 kW inverter.

The upgrade was designed to retain the customer’s 44c feed-in tariff while giving their solar setup a fresh start. ⚡

A fiddly installation and SEVERAL hot days, but the team put in the hard work and delivered the high standard we’re proud of. Great effort, guys! 👏

From Fronius to Tesla! ☀️🔋

We replaced this home’s existing 5 kW Fronius inverter with a Tesla Powerwall, combining a 10 kVA inverter and 13.5 kWh of battery storage in one unit.

The owners can now store excess solar energy for use after sunset, with the option to add more panels and expand their solar array in the future if needed. ⚡

Back in 2024, we installed a 6.6 kW solar system with a Sungrow inverter for Pam and Ken in Eli Waters.

Last month, they welcomed us back for an upgrade featuring:

⚡ 10 kW Sigenergy controller
🔋 16 kWh battery storage
☀️ An additional 4.75 kW of solar panels, bringing their total array to 11.35 kW

More solar generation and battery storage to make use of their solar after sunset!

An Enphase system, now with Sigenergy battery storage! ☀️🔋

For this upgrade, we decommissioned some of the existing Enphase microinverters and integrated the remaining micros through the Sigenergy Smart Port.

Installed in the shed, the new system features:

⚡ 5 kW Sigenergy controller
🔋 16 kWh battery storage
✅ Integration with the retained Enphase equipment

A tailored upgrade that keeps part of the existing system working while adding storage for solar energy to use after sunset.

We decommissioned a four-year-old Sungrow system and installed a new Sigenergy system featuring:

⚡ 10 kW controller
🔋 24 kWh battery storage
🏡 Full-house backup
✅ All wiring upgraded

More storage for use after sunset, with backup power ready when it’s needed.

📢 IMPORTANT PAYMENT UPDATE

Effective today, 1 October 2026, GCR Electrical Systems will no longer be accepting card payments.

With the new no-surcharge rules taking effect, businesses are no longer able to pass on card processing surcharges for most card payments.

Unfortunately, as card processing fees are still charged to us by the payment provider, we have made the decision to discontinue card payments rather than absorb these additional costs.

✅ Payments can still be made via direct bank cheques, cash or bank transfer, with our banking details provided on all invoices.

We appreciate your understanding and thank you for your continued support of our local business.
