It’s a highlight of plumbing and gas fitting apprentice Vann’s day when he heads here to Central Districts, as it means he gets to work together with his Dad James, our Building and Infrastructure Manager.

Working on planned maintenance and corrective repairs with Vann during the week, James is sometimes joined on weekends by his other two sons, Chayce and Cruz who jump on the end of a broom to help out around the gardens.

Having his boys around is particularly special, as James’ mum was an RN here when he was born, so these are second and third generation family members caring for our hospital and patients.

Happy Father’s Day to James and all the fathers and father-figures today!

Elizabeth Football Club Annual Shaz Platten memorial game is this Saturday!
