What to do if your power goes out in the upcoming severe weather?

1 - Get yourself prepared with a charged phone, fresh batteries in your torch and a few candles and matches close by
2 - Look out the window - do your neighbours have power? Are the street lights on?
3 - Check the Essential Energy Power Outages page

They are usually up to date and will show if there is a power outage in your area.
4 - If no outages shown, stay calm. Consider your safety and others. Wait until daylight to assess the situation.
5 - We do NOT recommend anyone venturing outside to check their metre box in this weather.
6 - if all else fails, and you are concerned about your safety, give us a call anytime on 65842976 /0401 910 165
