5 reasons why you should be using SPDs (Surge Protection Device) in residential switchboards 👍
1️⃣ Aussie homes have an estimated $15,000 worth of electronics unprotected against voltage surges. Traditional appliances like TVs and fridges are becoming smarter every day with lots of new sensitive electronic components inside them, which may be more at risk of surge damage.
2️⃣ Lots of home insurance policies don’t cover for all types of voltage surges. Getting an SPD installed could be cheaper for homeowners than even paying excess, in case of surge damage to their appliances.
3️⃣ Surge protected extension cords or powerboards only offer limited protection (and only for the devices connected to them). What about smart appliances such as washing machines, dryers and stoves that are normally plugged directly into standard powerpoints?
4️⃣ More people are working from home than ever before, storing critical business info on their desktop computers and laptops. SPDs can help prevent data loss from potential voltage spikes.
5️⃣ It’s simply not worth the risk. One SPD helps to keep all harmful surges out of your customer’s home, and can help give you (and them) peace of mind.
