I'm not quite sure how this post will go, just some thoughts to put out there from the weekend. My Son Brock Hamilton has his dream of being a race car driver his aim is F1. It's a huge dream and one that our family hope to make happen.
Seeing him have such a big accident on the weekend was hard to watch, but I also encourage him to take every experience good or bad as an opertunity to learn. We thought it was weekend over, however in true sportsmanship there were other plans for Brock Hamilton. Another team had a spare car and offered it to him. This isn't something that everyone gets and keep in mind he didn't ask they offered.
This then lead to some newer learnings. His car is different to the one offered. He only just got to learn the track in his car with practise and qualifying. Now he is in a different car and straight into a race. Having watch Brock drive everything and anything I knew this was yet another challenge he would excell in but getting past the nerves of the previous race I wasn't sure how he was going to go.
In true Brock form he took the the car with caution at first then settled in and moved from 20th to 12th. Doing his own PB, and 2nd fastest for his team and 6th fastest for that race. Being his dad makes it sound bias when I say he is talented when it comes to racing. But if you watch him, talk to him and really get to know him I'm sure you will feel the same way.
His racing has become part of our family's life with all of us doing something with the team. I thought Tayla Hamilton was the odd one out and didn't get motorsport but man she loves her brother racing and helps in the pits too.
My hope is that we can continue to support his dream and if you know of any person, company, business that would like to help his dream grow by sponsoring him please let us know, or contact him Brock Hamilton Racing. Even just a follow on his Facebook and or instagram is a great start for him.
