This ground floor (downstairs) Smoke Alarm is being interconnected with the 1st floor (upstairs) Smoke Alarm which is situated outside the bedrooms. This is helpful because if in the unfortunate event of a fire starting downstairs while the occupants are in bed asleep the upstairs alarm will sound at the same time as the the alarm downstairs nearest the fire. This will save the sleeping occupants valuable seconds and earlier warning to evacuate the premises

Check out St John’s Anglican Church Bell Tower, after last night’s lightning strike

Ashfield: Overnight lightning sparked a fire that damaged the bell tower at St John's Anglican Church.

Fire crews stopped the fire from spreading to other parts of the Alt Street church.
