Meanwhile JB & Razor dealt with a pallet of concrete, a track saw blade, and I'm lead to believe a series of measurements and calculations, so complex they ended up building a supercomputer, how'd they rate their day while Yarram was happening? LET'S ASK... (surly the original non edited photo wouldn't have been them responding to our gestures! Lol πŸ˜† πŸ˜† πŸ˜†)
Good friday, and a few laughs too. Enjoy the weekend legends! πŸ˜‰

Quick run to site to meet the boys and load up the off cuts and rubbish. With the amazing work done, called into the pub for one cheeky pint with the lads. Happy Friday!!! πŸ˜‰
(Disclaimer here, I may have had to use AI to change the hand gesture that we each made and sent to the other lads! πŸ˜† 🀣)

Shut your eyes, point and hope?! Nah, we found a close one. πŸ˜‰

Amusing things do happen on-site from time to time... we had a classic last week.
Wax applied to flooring (see other post), and we are packing up.
Me to Ray & Hayden "Don't forget that paint tin we need to bring back to colour match for those minor touch ups"
Hayden "Yup, it was beside the box of stuff we are bringing back"
Ray "Um, nah, that's on the shelf in the room we just finished, I left it up there" (and can't walk on by the way)
Me "Good joke, seriously Where is it?"

They say a picture tells a 1000 words, it's not a issue, we are back anyway, just an insight into things again lol πŸ˜† πŸ˜‰

Yet more insight to the work that goes into things. What everyone shows and sees is the end result. This is a perfect example not just of the Carpentry work that goes into things, also the unseen other tasks to get to the stage.
From moving all the items in the area we are working on, having the current underlay and covering tested for Asbestos, removing it, exposing the original boards.
Then sanding, filling, looking for structural issues (rotten or pest infected boards), more sanding! πŸ˜’πŸ˜†
Cleaning and prep to have it ready, then of course apply the Wax 1st coat to get it looking amazing and bringing things back to life, plus we've got more light sanding and more coating too go.
Lots of effort and work goes into all that we do, and so much in unseen and forgotten. πŸ˜‰
The results... even though not finished, already speak for itself! πŸ˜€
Check it out in reverse! Of course the finished work photos will follow still πŸ˜‰

I said I'd show the raw side of things this month... obviously I get to show what our work looks like, and showcase the lads skills... but we rarely talk about the pre 5am starts to collect materials!!!
Sometimes you just gotta do, what you gotta do. πŸ˜‰
Thankfully these are less common nowadays, but we've done plenty of these over the years.

Further evidence of me being embarrassing when I'm on site?!
I was so happy I was dancing a little jig... or perhaps it was an old fashioned way of testing the structural rigidity of an area in a building?! You be the judge πŸ˜† 🀣

Silly photo, yes, having a laugh, yes... but also very true.
With the "half way through the year" month of June about to start, winter about to kick into full throttle, what is always a tricky month to juggle all things Carpentry is about to start.
The fun and enjoyment is real, the long hours, juggling things is also very true, and rarely seen or shown.
This coming month I'm going to share some raw insight into what it takes, from everyone, to keep things ticking along. Real, honest, all done with love of the industry in my heart.. πŸ˜‰ Unless I get nervous and chicken out showing it πŸ˜† 🀣
