A quiet cabin designed to sit lightly within the landscape 🌿 ⠀

This French Island retreat explores simple construction and restrained materiality, allowing the focus to remain on internal planning, spatial flow, and connection to place.

The form is intentionally modest — a clear, efficient envelope wrapped in weathered silver timber and galvanised corrugated iron, chosen for durability, low maintenance, and a natural ageing process that blends into the island environment over time. ⠀

Inside, the layout is carefully considered to promote ease of movement, visual clarity, and a sense of harmony — where spaces flow intuitively and the surrounding bush becomes part of everyday living. ⠀

A project driven by doing less, but doing it well.

Nestled in the a laid-back surf town on Phillip Island, this home is crafted as a serene escape shaped by the rhythm of the ocean. Soft skillion lines, warm timber tones, and crisp cladding create a refined yet relaxed coastal aesthetic.

Natural light and open spaces capture the island lifestyle — effortless, grounded, and connected to nature. Out the back, a Plungie ‘Studio’ pool completes the retreat — perfect for slow afternoons or a sunset dip.
