Hello there!

We are Straightline Carpentry and we're based in Melbourne. We are currently looking for qualified carpenters to join our team of chippies to help us complete the large amount of work we have ahead of us this year.

We are looking for a qualified leading hand carpenter with all the required tools and transport to start working with us.

We carry out a mixture of domestic, commercial and semi-commercial work across Melbourne. We have a great team at the moment and are looking for people that will add to this!

Requirements

Certificate 3 in carpentry
Excellent attention to detail
Experience in all aspects of carpentry
Minimum of 4 years experience as a carpenter/leading hand carpenter
Experience working on high-end residential projects
Experience working on large commercial projects
Ability to communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders in a professional manner
Highly computer literate
Strong experience in managing site health and safety
Reliable transport
Must own all required carpentry tools


Tasks & responsibilities

Oversee large scale construction and carpentry projects (up to $20 millon in value)
Track, report and communicate progress on projects to key stakeholders
Have high attention to detail
Must be able to work to trade pace while still maintaining high quality
Must be able to read plans and help manage other trades on-site
Act as a role model and mentor to apprentices and less experienced carpenters
Effectively manage a team of carpenters and apprentices
