Building the future with modern methods of construction. We enable companies to scale, adapt and enrich their communities for generations.

Our architects, manufacturing specialists and construction team work together from the very start of every project.

Senior Design Associate James explains why understanding buildability early matters. Problems are solved during design instead of on site, the design stays true to the original vision, and clients get more certainty around quality, timing and delivery.

Did you know we can design and build your project?

With architectural design, DfMA, manufacturing, construction and project delivery within one team, we can consider buildability, programme and delivery requirements from the beginning rather than handing the project between separate parties.

Our recent concept design work on a modular childcare and medical centre with Penrith City Council highlights our architectural approach:

“Marathon worked collaboratively with Penrith City Council throughout the concept design process for the proposed modular facility. The team was professional, responsive and receptive to feedback, and we were pleased with both the quality of their work and the final concept design.”

What’s in the factory? A new school campus taking shape.

We’re pleased to be partnering with the Catholic Diocese of Broken Bay to deliver the new Siena Catholic College, opening in 2027.

Marathon is delivering the entire project from architectural design through to completion, with a two-storey building with a rooftop play area on a constrained site with provision for a third storey in the future.

Planning the building this way means the College can grow in stages, with future expansion considered from day one rather than added as an afterthought.

With much of the building taking shape offsite, we can also reduce activity and disruption on the school site while maintaining greater control over quality and programme.

Ravenswood School for Girls needed four new Year 6 classrooms, but there was only one place to put them: a courtyard surrounded by multi-storey buildings.

The challenge was to create new learning spaces without making the courtyard feel even more built up.

Our solution brought the classrooms, accessibility works and landscaping together as one integrated design.

Green walls, climbing vines and landscaping introduced greenery without taking away valuable outdoor space. Integrated ramps and stairs resolved the varying site levels, while large windows and glazed doors kept the new classrooms connected to the courtyard.

The classrooms were manufactured offsite while site works progressed, helping reduce disruption to the active school campus.

The result transformed an underused hard-surfaced area into a green, accessible environment for learning and gathering.

Not just a building in a courtyard. A new courtyard.

If your idea of modular construction is still the demountable classrooms of the past, it’s time to rethink what’s possible.

Today, architecturally ambitious, permanent buildings can be designed specifically to take advantage of the benefits of modular construction, without compromising the original design intent.

Good architectural design still starts with:
→ The people
→ The place
→ The purpose

At Marathon, modular is simply the methodology used to deliver that vision.
