🔹🔹Project Win | Old Maitland Road Renewal, Hexham 🔹🔹

We're excited to share that Robson Civil Projects has been awarded the Old Maitland Road Renewal Project for the City of Newcastle.

The $2.2 million project will deliver pavement and drainage improvements along a vital local road servicing businesses, industry and residents in the Hexham area.

While fresh asphalt is part of the story, the real outcome is a safer, more resilient road that can better withstand future weather events and continue supporting the people and businesses who rely on it every day.

With works set to commence later this month, our team is looking forward to delivering another important piece of infrastructure for the Newcastle community.

👷 A glimpse into a career in civil construction

We recently had the pleasure of welcoming a group of young men from the Clontarf Foundation for a day of learning, site visits and hands-on exposure to the many career opportunities available within our industry.

The Clontarf Foundation supports young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men to engage in education, build confidence and life skills, and develop pathways into meaningful employment. We were proud to play a small part in that journey by giving the group a firsthand look at where a career in civil construction could take them.

The day kicked off at our Somersby Head Office, where General Manager Greg Ferguson and Central Coast Divisional Manager Daniel Bosley shared an insight into what Robson does, their own roles and the variety of career pathways across civil construction.
The group then toured our maintenance workshop with Maintenance Supervisor Wayne Burke, before jumping on the bus and heading to our Sophia Waters project at Chisholm.

On site, Project Manager Jack Chillingworth took the group through the many moving parts that go into delivering a subdivision, explaining the bulk earthworks and civil construction underway and some of the different roles that bring a project like Sophia Waters to life.

A big thank you to the Clontarf Foundation for collaborating with us. We’re proud to share what we do and hopefully spark that little bit of curiosity that could one day turn into a rewarding career in civil. 🙌

After all, Proudly Building Tomorrow isn’t just about the infrastructure we deliver. It’s also about the next generation who will help build it.

🏗️ Beams in place!
Another key milestone was reached last month at the Cooranbong Twin Servos project, with 28 bridge planks successfully installed to form a service protection slab on the southbound service station entry ramp off the M1 Motorway.

Completed with the help of a 90t crane, the lift required careful planning and precision, with each plank lifted from a distance of 28 metres and slewed into position over critical services within the work area.

A great result from the project team and everyone involved in safely delivering this complex lift. 👏

Our team is powering ahead at Crangan Bay Stages 5 & 6 for our valued client Scape Properties, continuing our long-standing involvement in this growing residential community. Having already delivered 144 residential lots across Stages 3 & 4, we're now progressing the next phase of works, which will add a further 216 lots across a substantial 20-hectare site. Once complete, Robson will have delivered a total of 360 residential lots within the Crangan Bay development.

A standout feature of the project is the construction of more than 7,000m² of retaining walls, alongside the extensive civil infrastructure required to support future residents. With multiple crews working across the site, progress continues to build momentum as we help bring the next stage of Crangan Bay to life.

Celebrating 5 Years with Ryan Xerri & Steve Hart 🎉

This month, we're celebrating two valued team members reaching an important milestone, with both Ryan Xerri and Steve Hart marking five years of service with Robson Civil Projects.

Ryan is a polite and hardworking member of the team who leads by example and earns the respect of those around him. Whether operating rollers, 9-tonne front dump trucks, or supporting site crews wherever needed, Ryan brings a positive attitude and strong work ethic to every project. During his time with Robson, he has contributed to a variety of projects, including Eraring Battery Energy Storage System and M1 Twin Servos, consistently proving himself as a reliable and committed team member.

Steve is a true all-rounder who plays an important role across our Somersby operations. From supporting workshop activities and maintaining the yard to driving the fuel truck and assisting wherever required, Steve's versatility and willingness to help make him an invaluable part of the team. His hands-on approach and dependable nature ensure things keep running smoothly behind the scenes.

Thank you both for your dedication, hard work and commitment over the past five years. Your contributions have helped shape the success of our business, and we're proud to have you as part of the Robson team.

Congratulations on this fantastic milestone! 👏

From the ground up.

Our team recently completed civil works for Stages 5-6 of Archer's Run in Morisset for our valued client, Ingenia Lifestyles, delivering 76 new lots complete with roads, footpaths, retaining walls and essential underground services.

It's another milestone for this growing development, taking the total number of lots delivered by Robson across Stages 1-6 to more than 200 since first commencing onsite in mid-2023.

Congratulations to Ross Collins, our August Operator of the Month!🏆

Based at our Waterford Estate, Chisholm project, Ross was nominated by Site Manager Phil Badior for his outstanding attitude, versatility and work ethic.

Ross is the kind of operator who makes every day on site easier. Nothing is ever a problem, he gets along with everyone, and his ability behind the controls is second to none.

What stood out recently was his willingness to jump out of the new 52-tonne excavator and straight into a hired 20-tonne machine when priorities shifted on site, without hesitation.

Thanks for your hard work and positive attitude, Ross. Your commitment and team-first approach make a real difference. Well deserved! 👏
