Spring is on the doorstep so...

Here’s what is good to plant at this time in Australia!

RADISH

Sow a short row directly into the soil and keep the moisture steady while it grows.

BEETROOT

Plant seeds it where it’ll stay, then thin crowded seedlings so the roots have room to develop.

CARROTS

Plant seeds directly into loose soil, cover the seed lightly and don’t let the surface dry out while they germinate.

SILVERBEET

Start with seed or seedlings, give each plant room for full leaves and keep picking from the outside as it grows.

SPRING ONIONS

Use them along a bed edge or in a pot, where their fine roots can be checked and watered easily.

PARSLEY

Start seed or plant a healthy seedling now, then give it steady moisture and enough space for its roots.

LETTUCE

Plant a small amount at a time so you don’t end up with every head ready in the same week.

Spring onions can still be useful, and sweet potato suits warm, free draining soil when local conditions are right.

Get out there and dig in.

I have heaps of seeds of the pink and white Everlasting Strawflower Bright Rose Pink and white. I’m not sure if this is something anyone would be interested in but send a pm if you are.
I will also have other seeds and seedlings soon if that is more your thing.
