SUBURBAN DENSITY IS BACK. DELIVERY EXPECTATIONS ROSE WITH IT.
A fast-tracked 15-storey, 76-apartment tower has been approved at 846–858 Glenferrie Road, Hawthorn. Valued at $65.3m, the scheme includes a 15% affordable housing contribution and is targeted for completion in 2029. The approved height was reduced from the original proposal.
It reflects a broader shift: well-located suburban sites are again supporting significant apartment projects. But in established neighbourhoods, higher density raises the delivery bar. Community scrutiny is intense; design quality is non-negotiable; heritage and neighbourhood character demand genuine responses; and commitments made at approval must carry through to delivery.
Disciplined project management matters: resolve design before commitments are locked, clarify decisions through assessment and procurement, plan cost and programme realistically, and execute consistently against approved documentation.
At Jinton, we manage the complete project lifecycle, from site acquisition and development management to superintendent and project management services through to completion. Since 2000, we’ve delivered over $1 billion of projects.
