Stairs Matter

We have been replacing stairs for decades now and a pattern keeps repeating.

Last week I got reminded that gravity exists. Lucky it was only a busted iPad, phone and a wounded ego. (Shout out to Michael from MPR Express Hornsby for helping with the electronics, you guys are awesome).

It was a timely reminder that we are all mortal and need stairs we can trust.

This client got in early with preventative maintenance and had new spotted gum treads installed. Their intervention saved them money and drama.

Perfection With A Light Touch

We are fortunate to live close to nature; the luckiest amongst us live in it. The rustling eucalypts, the breeze coming up the valley, the scent of wet bush after summer rain.

This client wanted to embrace this openness with minimal fuss. Tubular aluminium fencing was a great choice, it is non combustible, doesn’t rust and requires almost no maintenance.

After all it made little sense erecting a solid 6ft fence. It is as if less is the key to enjoying more.

We rebuilt this clients’ front facade faithfully. This included custom milled hardwood mouldings, period correct fascia, new gutters with the correct fall & painting so it looked like we were never there.

Timber To Aluminium Windows

Replacing original thin untempered 4mm float glass cedar windows is a common request. By now the original 1950 - 1980 windows tend to rot out particularly if in an exposed location.

This window was huge and in a tricky spot requiring scaffolding. Naturally the client wanted a low maintenance option which was anodised aluminium with clear laminated glass.

Like a big puzzle we replicate the angles to preserve a feel that was consistent with the home.

This client was looking for more natural light in their home’s living room. It had windows and doors but was still a bit dark due to the aspect.

We made a standard Velux skylight appear more impressive with a multi stage splayed shaft. This design increased the light’s spread and added architectural interest.
