Bit of excitement for Aiden and Chris at a job today out at Phoenix Park. Needless to say, this gorgeous guy made fixing things in the switchboard a little tricky.

He was safely relocated to somewhere more acceptable.

Aiden wished he'd brought a second pair of jocks to work today though.....

*** LIKE TO SAVE MONEY THIS SUMMER? ***

What does summer mean to you?

Does it mean longer days and more beach time? (That’s us!). Cricket season and backyard BBQ’s? Or higher power bills due to running air conditioning units all day long, just to keep from melting in the summer heat?

So, what if we told you, there was ONE very simple solution to help keep your home cool, AND save you money on your power bill at the same time?

Interested??

Funnily enough, it actually has to do with type of lights you choose to use.

For years halogen globes have been used throughout Australia as a better alternative to the standard light bulb (you know, the one Thomas Edison developed way back in the late 1800’s). But halogens are extremely inefficient – they chew through power, and are hot to touch (a potential fire hazard if you have insulation in the ceiling). They draw more power, you need more of them to light up a room and did you know they can also actually heat up the room by 1-2 degrees! (no wonder you have to crank the air conditioning up a notch in summer!)

On the other hand, LED downlights use less power, and you don’t need as many to get the same amount of light as your standard halogen or fluorescent . And the major bonus - they don’t run hot (so you can run your air con at a lower temperature – win, win, win!!).

That mysterious rock from yesterday. Did you guess what it was?
