⚡ Safety starts at the switchboard.
This home was still protected by old ceramic fuses, so before installing a new solar and battery system, the switchboard needed to be brought up to today’s safety standards.
By upgrading to RCBOs (Residual Current Circuit Breakers with Overcurrent Protection), each circuit now has both overload and earth leakage protection. That means:
✔️ Improved protection against electric shock
✔️ Faster fault detection and isolation
✔️ Reduced risk of electrical fires
✔️ Greater reliability and easier fault finding
Current electrical work in Australia must comply with the requirements of AS/NZS 3000:2018 (Wiring Rules). While older switchboards may have been compliant when they were installed, any new electrical installation—such as solar and battery systems—often requires upgrades to ensure the installation complies with the current standards and is safe for continued use.
A switchboard upgrade isn’t just about compliance—it’s about protecting your family, your home, and your investment.
