Something we love to do at Elk is work with materials in their raw form and we loved the challenge of delivering our first ever tilt panel concrete duplex.

There’s a particular kind of patience this method asks for. The panels are cast flat, cured, then tilted upright into place which is a process that rewards precision over speed.

What you’re left with is a wall that doesn’t need dressing up. Raw texture, a rustic feel and a finish that ages the way it was meant to.

We always flag with our clients that we won’t be the fastest builder around and that’s because we take our time to deliver a high quality product and we’re proud of that.

Sometimes the space under the stairs can often be overlooked when it’s got the potential to be the best part of the home.

Tucked beneath the stairs, this little bar nook brings an otherwise overlooked space to life.

Curved joinery, a stone benchtop, room for the good glasses and your best bottle🍷.

We loved bringing this little book to life. Built with the same care as everything else in the house, because that’s what we’re about.🙌🏽

I just wanted to drop in and introduce ourselves. We’re Elk Building Co, and we’re custom home builders here on the Sunshine Coast. We’re currently looking to build out our subcontractor database so if you’re a subcontractor in the building industry that values delivering a high standard of craftsmanship - let’s connect. We treat our subby’s like family and like to enjoy our time on site - we don’t deliver sub standard work though so if you’re not into being masters of your craft we’re probably not the people for you 🙌🏽

We’re a small, family-owned building business. I’m Pete and I’m usually out on site every day making the magic happen. I started my carpentry apprenticeship back in 2008, so building’s been my trade for close to 20 years now. A fair few of those years were spent building in the Northern Territory, where cyclones are common, so it means every home has to be built to last. It teaches you to be precise, and that’s stuck with me ever since. I’ve built steel framed homes, core-filled block work homes, timber framed homes, concrete tilt panel homes, and combination of all the above!

We build custom homes - some for families building the place they’ll live in for years to come, others for investors who want a quality product at the end of the build. Either way, we do it properly with clear communication, an honest process, and no cutting corners.

I’ve attached some photos of a couple recent builds we’ve brought to life in the Marcoola area.

A little snippet of our latest duplex build located only a stones throw away from some of the Sunshine Coast’s best beaches.

Think light filled interiors, plenty of flow for that ocean breeze, high ceilings and a gorgeous in-ground pool.
