On Thursday 10th September, our team at DYFA will be taking part in Lifeline’s Out of the Shadows Walk.
We’ll be walking as DYFA Mates, a new initiative within our business centred around something pretty simple: looking out for each other. It’s about creating a culture where our people check in, speak up, support their mates and know they don’t have to carry things alone.
This walk has a particularly personal meaning for our team. Last year we lost Joel, a former team member and mate, to su***de. We’ll be walking in memory of Joel and others who have been lost, but also as a reminder of the importance of looking out for the people around us today.
We’ll meet at Maroochydore SLSC at 5.30am, walk together to Mooloolaba SLSC and back, then come together for a coffee and breakfast afterwards.
We’d love to have our wider DYFA community join us. Staff, family, friends, clients, suppliers and anyone else who would like to walk alongside us is welcome.
If you can’t make the walk but would like to support the team, you can also donate to Lifeline through our fundraising page. There’s absolutely no pressure. Every person who walks with us, shares the message or supports the cause is part of it.

The more mates walking together, the better.
Our team is walking in Out of the Shadows for Lifeline to ensure no one has to face their darkest moments alone.
