Topiary trimming is always a mind game 🌿 you think you have it mint and then you change angles and all the uneven spots come to light!

We like to give the bush a good shake before doing the final trim to get all of those stray stems.

A moment for Ozothamnus Diosmifolius 'Red Gingham'! Otherwise known as 'Rice flower'

Its been in my garden for a few years now - and I just adore the colour, and the longevity you get out of the flowers.

They start off with this beautiful Coral red - and then fade to a soft pink before resuming to white as the flowers fully open. I get to enjoy this flowering from mid winter right through to spring.

A perfect shrub (growing 1.5-2m tall x 1m wide) that adds light foliage and texture, and a spot for the smaller birds to zip through.

This shrub is easy to trim to size and enjoys well draining soils. I have this planted in a raised garden bed and it gets a prune after flowering.

JULY @ GGG

What a memorable July it has been!
Lots of fun projects on the go & finished, revisiting WIP's, pruning, welding, getting dirty and appreciating the winter flowering plants. 🌸

We have a new addition to our team (formal welcome to come) and there is lots of preparation happening for spring. Time to get planning the warmer weather will be here in a second! 🌿

Happy 2 years Josie!! You bring so much to GGG, not just the laughs (although there is a great deal of those) but a real passion for plants and the great outdoors. We are so proud of your growth over the past couple of years and the courage you show to the hard things. Here's to many more laughs and days in the garden - we appreciate you so much πŸ’šπŸ΅πŸŒΏ

Here is a before and after of one of our WIP. The amount of growth in just 8 months is amazing!

New builds, lawn everywhere, standard perimeter planting, yet this area has never seen a native garden like this. We have trucked in about 60m3 of sand to create the mounds of which many of these species prefer to set their roots. And if you saw the kind of 'soil' that lies beneath - you would opt for the sand too. We installed 13mm techline evenly over the mounds to maintain even moisture and minimise run off (although the big downpour in Feb proved too much). We arent opting for mulch but rather keeping the 'mallee' look and letting the plants grow into the open areas.

We look forward to topping up the pathways before spring and seeing the everlastings come into bloom. Seeing the increase in biodiversity is the cherry on top. 🐦

Today we said goodbye to our very special client, friend and neighbour - Jeannie. She was a one of a kind woman - the Mallees best floral designer, avid gardener, talented cook and so much more.

We feel so grateful that she welcomed us into her garden and trusted us with her treasures. To see Gloriosa Lily's will always make us think of her.

Jeannie shared her favourite roses for cutting, scent and vase life. If youre looking to plant a rose this is your sign 🌹

A life lived to its fullest - some may say twice!

Today we revisited my very first design client! It was in need of a good tidy up and trim, but beautifully rewarding as the shapes soon came back into place. I will always be thankful to my warm and welcoming clients who trusted this very green Hort girl to come in and help frame their new build & home 🏑

Days like this give me time to reflect and appreciate how much we are supported by the community, we love being able to put the GGG touch on your outdoor spaces ✨️🌱
