Water Leak journey..
This one was a bit of a process, initially thought it was a quick repair, then got called back a week later about a slight sweating leak next to repair and found more along that stretch of pipe, so cut holes near the studs to feed a new copper pipe.
What causes this?
Could be flux left of pipe and caused weak spot but also highly acidic rain water eats away at copper, I recommended some alkaline increase water filters to bring up the PH.

If you manage properties, you know how quickly small issues can turn into bigger ones.

Managing properties isn’t just about fixing things when they break.

It’s about having the right person to call when something needs to be handled properly.

Electrical faults.
Leaks that start small.
Hot water systems failing without warning.

These are the everyday issues that need to be sorted without delays or back and forth.

I work with strata managers and real estate across the Northern Rivers, taking care of electrical and plumbing maintenance so things stay simple and under control.

Clear communication.
Reliable turnaround.
No overcomplicating the job.

If you’re looking for someone dependable to have on your list, feel free to reach out.

Most electrical problems don’t start big.
There are usually small signs first.

Part 1 — Electrical safety checks at home

Weekly
• Flickering lights
• Any buzzing or unusual sounds
• Avoid overloading power boards

Monthly
• Test your smoke alarm
• Test your safety switch
• Check power points aren’t warm or discoloured

Yearly (or if unsure)
• Get a licensed electrician to check things over
• Especially in older homes

What to watch for
• Power tripping more than once
• An appliance causing the trip (kettle, toaster, etc)
• Burning smell or heat from outlets

If it trips once, it might be nothing.
If it keeps happening, there’s usually a reason.

Sometimes it’s a faulty appliance — and it’s better to replace it than keep resetting the switch.

If you’re not sure what’s causing it, that’s when it’s worth getting it checked properly.

Better to catch it early than deal with a bigger problem later.

With heaters and electric blankets back on, it’s important to have working smoke alarms in your home.

They give early warning and can save lives.

Simple things you can do:
• Press the TEST button — it should sound loudly
• Replace batteries if needed
• Make sure you have alarms near bedrooms and main living areas

You can install a basic alarm yourself, or have a wired system set up so all alarms go off together.

Either way — having a working Australian Standard smoke alarm in your home this winter is what matters.

Worth taking a minute to check.

Winter tends to put more pressure on everything around the home.

Hot water systems have to work harder with colder water — and older units often start to show faults.

Pipes and fittings can contract in the cold, which can turn small weak spots into leaks.

At the same time, usage increases — more hot showers, heaters, dryers — putting extra load on both plumbing and electrical.

That’s usually when small issues start to show up.

Sorting things early can save bigger problems later.

Yesterday it was a toilet leak

Today, it’s under the sink.

Small leaks here can soak into kitchen cabinets, cause mould, and even leak down into the flooring causing expensive damage and replacement.

Because it’s hidden, the damage builds before you notice.

Most of the time, it’s a simple fix when caught early.

Done properly, it saves problems later.

Noticed water around the base of your toilet?

It might seem minor

But small leaks can lead to floor damage, mould, and costly repairs if left too long.

Most of the time, it’s a simple fix when caught early.

If something doesn’t look right, it’s worth getting it checked.
Feel free to get in touch if you are unsure.

The reason I did both trades

When I was younger, I had a clear idea of the life I wanted to build.

Not just work for the sake of it,
but something more grounded.
Living on land, being more self sufficient, raising a family, caring for animals,
spending time outdoors, surfing, and building a home of my own on the land.

I knew early on that learning both electrical and plumbing
would give me the skills to make that possible.

It wasn’t the easy option.
It meant extra years of study, long days and it took discipline. However it just felt like the right thing to do at the time to fulfil my goal.

Now I’m based in the Northern Rivers, loving it.
I’ve been able to build my own home
and live the kind of lifestyle I was working towards.

On the work side, having both trades makes a real difference.
A lot of jobs overlap, and being able to handle both properly
means things get done more efficiently without the runaround.

I take pride in doing things properly
and being fair with people. That’s always been important to me.

This photo was taken around 10 years ago while Elijah was working in Sydney.

He’s now been on the tools for over 15 years.

It’s not something that’s new —
it’s years of turning up, learning properly, and doing the job right across both trades.

That experience is what carries through to every job today.

No shortcuts. No guesswork.
Just honest, solid work.
