It’s a question that comes up a lot during the colder months:
“Can I reseal my concrete driveway in winter?”
✅ Short answer? Yes - but only if you do it right.
Paul from Paul’s Quality Concrete says:
“In winter, concrete stays damp longer, especially in shaded spots. If your driveway gets sun most of the day and the surface is bone dry, you’re good to go. But proper curing and dryness are key.”
From Dave at Oriem (a bloke who knows his sealers):
Don’t seal if the ambient temp is below 10°C
Avoid sealing if overnight temps drop below 10°C
Always test for dampness before applying
Allow at least 48 hours of dry weather after rain
Morning dew? Afternoon chill? Skip it.
Winter slows solvent evaporation - and if moisture gets trapped, you’ll risk milky finishes or peeling.
So if you’re thinking about freshening up your driveway with Colourcrete, plan smart. The right prep means a better result - and way less drama later.
Check the weather. Test the surface. When in doubt, ask your supplier.
Everything. Everywhere. Everytime. Especially with a bit of sun.
