Colour and texture are so important! One of our favourite ways to create a fabulous garden is to compose a palette of plants - species that suit the conditions of a space, but also look beautiful together.

This is a concept we put together for an Inner West client who wanted something lush for her front garden, with as many natives as possible.

Underneath a Backhousia myrtifolia, with its cinnamon-scented leaves and delicate white flowers, we have selected a balance of purple, green, and white.

The silver leaves of Plectranthus argentatus plays against the dark purple leaves of its cousin, Plectranthus ciliatus 'Nico'. The grassy foliage of a Libertia paniculata disrupts the uniformity of the Plectranthus' leaf shape, while its white flowers forms a connection to the Backhousia. A carefully arranged specimens of Blechnum 'Silver Lady' adds to the contrast, while still being magnificent in its own right. A carpet of Viola hederacea completes the look, with its purple and white flowers uniting the composition.

One of our earliest designs is this tiny Balmain garden. The client wished for something classic, but not too formal, that would suit the character of the Victorian townhouse. We came up with a riotous blend of flowers behind a formal by us hedge. A spiralling topiary harkens back to a traditional garden style, yet adds a touch of whimsy. Our clients are extremely pleased with our work; we have been maintaining this garden for many years now!

We are so excited to be able to launch our business! It's been a goal and a dream of ours for some time now. We're looking forward to be able to maintain and transform some of Sydney's gardens.
