Leaving 2023 with this last post of an artichoke in bloom I took yesterday while up in the Blue Mountains. It was growing outside a Cafe along the sidewall. I'd never actually seen one in bloom before. It was unexpected, surprising and it filled me with delightful wonder. These are the things I hope for in 2024. Wonderful, exciting things that never cease to amaze me. ✨️

Since we don't have the day off in Oz for Thanksgiving, we will celebrate tomorrow. However, I've been prepping for a couple days and got the pie done today. My favourite 😋 🎃 🍂

Freshly baked apple turnovers. 🍎
It's been full throttle in our family the last few months. I've been in burnout. However, I have no appts this morning so was able to do some cathartic baking. Pure silence except the chopping of apples and fan of the oven. Bliss. 🧘‍♀️

Great way to use half the apples from the market. Plus, as we are celebrating our American Thanksgiving this week, the smell of apple and cinnamon is giving me her in Oz.
