WE’RE HIRING – LEADING HAND 🔨

My Slate Roofing is looking for an experienced Leading Hand to join our growing team.

This role is ideal for a tradesman who takes pride in quality workmanship and wants to work on some of Sydney’s most iconic heritage buildings and high-end homes.

Working alongside our Foreman, you’ll play a key role in delivering exceptional slate and metal roofing projects while remaining hands-on with the team.

You’ll be working with:
✔️ Natural Slate
✔️ Leadwork
✔️ Copper & Zinc
✔️ Architectural Metal Roofing
✔️ Heritage Restoration
✔️ Premium Residential & Commercial Projects

We’re looking for someone who:
• Has proven experience in slate and/or metal roofing
• Works well within a team and supports the Foreman
• Takes pride in quality workmanship and attention to detail
• Can mentor apprentices and less experienced tradesmen
• Holds a White Card and driver’s licence
• Is reliable, motivated and wants to build a long-term career

From slate to tile — a fresh new look in heart of Vaucluse🏡✨

This full roof replacement has completely transformed the home, replacing the original slate with Monier shingle. Complemented by new Colorbond guttering and downpipes, the shingle awning roofs tie it all together, adding depth and character to an already beautiful property.

We’ve recently completed this beautiful project featuring a cedar shingle awning and facade, paired with reclaimed Welsh slate to a section of the main roof.

The warmth and texture of natural cedar against the character and longevity of genuine Welsh slate is a combination that never dates. Timeless materials, installed properly, will outlast trends every time.

The reclaimed Welsh slate was carefully selected and graded to ensure consistency while maintaining that heritage character. Every slate individually fixed. Every detail considered.

The cedar shingles bring depth and craftsmanship to the street frontage — a real feature element that will silver off beautifully over time.

This stunning cedar shingle façade was recently completed by the team ✨

We wrapped this bay extension in premium western red cedar shingles, giving it that warm, natural texture that only real timber can deliver. The detail through the corners, window reveals and base courses really sets it off 🔥 Over time, these shingles will weather beautifully and soften into that classic silver-grey tone.

On this project we also installed the new Colorbond roof and rainwater goods, tying everything in with the existing structure. And to top it off, we completed the full roof replacement to the main property last year – always great to come back and continue improving a home we’ve already worked on.

• Fully competent in all aspects of Colorbond roofing
• Flashings, box gutters, valleys, wall junctions
• Ability to read plans and work independently
• Pride in neat, straight, clean work

Slate Roofers
• Experienced in natural slate installation
• Competent with hips, ridges, valleys & lead work
• Copper & traditional fixing methods
• Strong attention to detail
