Not every broken drain can be dug up.

On this job, a collapsed section of 150mm terracotta pipe was in a location where excavation simply wasn’t an option. Instead, our team deployed the RMS Robotic Cutter to precision-grind approximately one metre of the collapsed pipe, removing soil and debris to restore the pipe to its original diameter.

Once the section is cleared and a clean void is created, we can install a structural liner bringing the drain back to life without the disruption of major excavation.

It’s the right technology, the right experience, and the right solution when access is limited.

Before any relining happens, the prep work has to be spot on.

Eddy and Ismail using the SeeSnake camera to inspect the pipe, checking for cracks, blockages and root intrusion before they even think about lining it.

This is the bit no one sees. Kneeling in garden beds, running cables down access points, making sure every metre of pipe is mapped before the job starts.

And this is exactly what that inspection was looking for. Tree roots find their way into the tiniest crack in ageing pipes, and once they're in, they don't stop. Left alone this turns into blocked drains, backed up sinks and eventually a collapsed pipe.

Get the prep wrong and the whole reline is compromised. That's why the crew takes their time here.

Once the pipe's been mapped, it's time to prep the liner.

Eddy and Ismail cutting the liner to the exact length of the damaged section. This German-engineered, epoxy-coated liner has a 50-year life expectancy, so getting the measurements right matters.

We soak the liner in epoxy and inflate the packers with pressurised air to ensure the epoxy holds a water tight seal until it has fully cured

Boys on site in Baulkham Hills today at a new build. When the plumbers have plumbed up new PVC but unfortunately down stream its the old pipe which had huge cracks and tree roots. So we relined the old pipe and its as good as new.
