New build tip ⚡

Once the house is finished, we’re often working with what’s already there.

On this job, the exhaust fan was already cut into the ceiling, so we installed the new unit in the existing location to avoid patching and repainting.

If we’re involved earlier, we can help plan things properly from the start — lighting, fans, exhausts, cameras, power points and switch locations.

Small planning decisions before handover can save a lot of headaches later 👌

This outdoor power point looked normal from the outside.

But once we checked it properly, we found a few serious issues:
No proper sealing.
Undersized cabling.
And no earth.

That means if something went wrong, it may not trip properly and could leave someone exposed to electric shock.

This is why outdoor electrical work should never be treated as a quick cheap install. It needs to be weatherproof, protected, tested and done by a licensed electrician.

We’re not here to name and shame anyone. We’re here to make sure families are safe and the work is done properly.

This switchboard looked fine from the outside… until we opened it.

Once the cover came off, we found signs of heat damage, loose connections and outdated wiring that the homeowner would never have seen.

This is why older switchboards should be checked properly — especially in homes that are 15+ years old.

A switchboard upgrade isn’t just about making it look neat. It’s about safety switches, proper protection, earthing, compliance, testing and making sure your home is protected properly.
