Abyss Construction is a specialist concrete structures contractor delivering complex civil, infrastructure and structural projects across Australia. With a strong pipeline of secured and upcoming works throughout Sydney Metro and Regional NSW, we are looking for an experienced Senior Project Engineer or Project Manager to join our growing team.
This Sydney-based role is ideal for someone who enjoys taking ownership of project delivery, contract administration, commercial management and client relationships while working closely with site teams to successfully deliver challenging projects.

โข Contract interpretation and administration
โข Managing contractual obligations and project compliance requirements
โข Preparing, assessing and submitting progress claims
โข Identifying, pricing and negotiating variations
โข Monitoring project budgets, forecasts and cash flow
โข Preparing monthly project reports and commercial updates
โข Coordinating engineering and technical activities across projects
โข Developing and maintaining construction programs
โข Managing procurement and subcontractor engagement
โข Supporting project delivery teams to achieve programme, quality and productivity targets
โข Building and maintaining strong client, consultant and subcontractor relationships
โข Ensuring project milestones and contractual deliverables are achieved

Youโre a driven construction professional who takes ownership and delivers results.
You will have:
โข Degree qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering
โข Minimum 5 years' experience delivering civil, infrastructure, mining or structural construction projects
โข Strong understanding of contract administration and commercial management
โข Experience preparing progress claims, variations and project reporting
โข Knowledge of construction programming, Temporary works designs and project controls
โข Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
โข Ability to work collaboratively with clients, consultants, subcontractors and site teams
Highly Regarded
โข Experience delivering reinforced concrete structures
โข Exposure to major infrastructure, transport or industrial projects
โข Experience managing project budgets and forecasting
โข Project management experience on medium to large-scale construction projects
