🧩 Pipe networks are rarely made up of one simple, straight section.

Many systems include bends, junctions, vertical stacks and changes in diameter, all of which can make damaged areas harder to reach and more complex to rehabilitate.

These sections require a repair approach that considers the full pipe layout, not just the most visible fault.

Depending on the application, specialised trenchless systems may be able to restore complex sections without opening up every area the pipe passes through.

That is why a proper assessment matters. The solution needs to suit the configuration, the damage and the way the system operates.

Have a recurring issue in a complex section of pipework? Arrange an assessment with your local Nuflow team.

🏬 For a commercial property, a pipe repair can affect far more than the plumbing.

Excavation through a car park, tenancy or common area can restrict access, interrupt operations and inconvenience customers or tenants.

Where suitable, trenchless rehabilitation can restore the damaged pipe internally, helping the site remain accessible and functional while the work is completed.

Extend the life of your assets without the downtime.

📍 Project Spotlight | Bourke Shire Council

Before rehabilitation work can be planned, councils need a clear understanding of what is happening beneath the surface.

Nuflow Northwest was engaged by Bourke Shire Council to complete a large-scale CCTV investigation of sewer and stormwater pipelines across multiple sites in the region.

Using tractor-mounted CCTV equipment, the team inspected pipes ranging from 150 mm to 300 mm in diameter, capturing detailed footage to identify structural defects, root intrusion, collapses and other areas requiring attention.

The five-day investigation program provided the council with:

🔹 Clear condition data across its underground network
🔹 Identification of urgent and priority repairs
🔹 Detailed reporting to support future planning
🔹 A tailored roadmap for proactive rehabilitation

By combining advanced inspection technology, safe confined-space practices and efficient regional delivery, the project gave Bourke Shire Council the information needed to make more informed decisions about its sewer and stormwater assets.

🚧 Some pipe problems are difficult because of where the pipe is located, not because of the damage itself.

Pipes beneath retaining walls, established landscaping or tight-access areas can turn a straightforward repair into a major construction project.

Where suitable, trenchless rehabilitation may allow the damaged section to be restored through existing access points.

Before planning excavation, ask your local Nuflow team what other options may be available.

🔬 Why choose Nuflow? Because the technology behind every repair continues to evolve.

Nuflow’s pipe rehabilitation systems are supported by ongoing research, development and Australian manufacturing.

Our in-house teams continue to test materials, refine installation methods and develop solutions for different pipe conditions and project requirements.

This means local Nuflow teams are backed by more than a product. They are supported by technical knowledge, quality processes, ongoing training and systems developed for long-term performance.

From research and testing through to manufacturing and installation support, every stage is focused on delivering reliable rehabilitation solutions across residential, commercial and infrastructure projects.

Innovation does not stop once a product is developed. It continues with every test, improvement and project.

🏠 A damaged pipe beneath a building does not always mean the floor has to come up.

When pipes run beneath tiles, concrete or shared building areas, traditional replacement can create a much larger project than the original pipe problem.

Access may involve cutting through finished surfaces, closing off parts of the property and then repairing everything above ground once the pipe work is complete.

Where the pipe is suitable, trenchless rehabilitation may provide a less disruptive solution by restoring the damaged section from within using existing access points.

That can help protect the building, reduce access restrictions and minimise disruption for residents, tenants or customers.

No digging. No downtime. No compromise.

A pipe was repaired.

Six months later, the same problem came back. ⚠️

Sound familiar?

Often the issue isn't that the repair failed.

It's that the original pipe was never truly restored.

Many short-term repairs stop the immediate problem. They don't always address the condition of the pipe itself.

The best repair isn't the one that gets you through this winter.

It's the one you don't have to think about next winter.

Some pipe repairs aren't about convenience.

They're about keeping critical operations running.

Nuflow Cairns FNQ recently delivered a trenchless rehabilitation project at Tully Sugar Mill, restoring a DN900 concrete process-water line located beneath the mill's infrastructure. 📸

Working within a strict shutdown window, the team rehabilitated the deteriorated pipe using a custom Sumoline XL CIPP liner system designed to suit the industrial operating environment and complex pipe geometry.

Traditional replacement would have required extensive excavation through the mill floor, creating significant disruption and additional downtime.

Instead, the pipe was restored from within.

The project highlights the value of careful planning, technical expertise and selecting the right rehabilitation solution for the asset, environment and operational requirements.

Because successful infrastructure rehabilitation starts long before installation begins. 🛠️
