🤔 Did you know your oven might not actually be broken?

After a power outage, electrical work, or even accidentally pressing the wrong button, many ovens will stop heating until the clock is reset. ⏰

That's right — on many modern ovens, if the time isn't set correctly, the oven won't operate at all. 🔥🚫

We've attended plenty of call-outs where customers thought their oven had failed, only to find it just needed the clock programmed again.

Before calling an electrician or appliance technician, it might be worth checking the display and setting the time first. It could save you time, money and frustration. 👍

💡 Simple upgrades can make a big difference! 🏡

We recently replaced all of the old oyster light fittings throughout this apartment with brand new LED oyster lights as the owner prepares to put the property on the market. ✨

When selling a home, not every improvement needs to be a major renovation. Small upgrades like modern lighting can instantly make a property feel brighter, cleaner and more up to date for potential buyers. 👌

The new LED fittings not only look better, but they’re also more energy efficient and provide better light throughout the home. ⚡

Thinking of selling your property? It might be worth considering a few simple electrical upgrades before listing it on the market.

🔋 Another battery system completed in Glenmore Park! ☀️

This homeowner already had a 13.3kW solar system installed and was exporting a large amount of excess solar energy back to the grid each day. Rather than letting that energy go to waste, we installed a 20kWh Sigenergy battery system tailored to suit their budget and energy usage. ⚡

Now, instead of buying power back from the grid every night, they can store their excess solar during the day and use it when the sun goes down. 🌞➡️🔋➡️🏡

Battery storage isn't just for new solar installations. If you've already got solar on your roof, adding a battery can help you get far more value from the system you already own. 💰

Thinking about adding a battery to your existing solar system? We'd be happy to help.

💡 “The lights dim every time we flush the toilet…” 🚽⚡

Believe it or not, this can actually be pretty normal in some homes 👀

We recently had tenants mention that the lights would briefly dim whenever the toilet was flushed. The property had a water pressure pump installed, which starts up whenever water is used around the house.

When pumps and other motors first start, they draw a higher amount of power for a split second ⚡ This startup load can sometimes cause lights to momentarily dim, especially in older homes or properties running larger pumps.

You might also notice similar things happen when:
🔧 Air conditioners start up
🧺 Washing machines kick in
❄️ Fridges cycle on
🏊 Pool pumps start running

Not every strange electrical symptom means something is faulty 👌

✨ Lighting upgrade over this stairway 👌

We replaced an existing downlight with a new pendant light to help give the area a more modern look and better feature lighting throughout the stairwell 💡

The old downlight was originally switched together with other lights nearby, but the owner wanted independent control over the new pendant, so we rewired it onto its own separate switch for a bit more flexibility and convenience ⚡

Small changes like this can completely change the feel of a space while also making the lighting more practical day to day 🙌

🔥 New hot water circuit installed out in Bilpin ⚡

We attended site to run in a new dedicated circuit for a hot water system, including new circuit protection at the switchboard and isolator ready for the plumber to connect and commission 👌

A lot of jobs like these involve working alongside other local trades to get everything completed smoothly and on time. We regularly work together with local plumbers, builders and other trades across the Hawkesbury and Western Sydney area 🤝

Clean, safe and reliable installation ready for years of service 👍

☀️ Does solar still work during a blackout? 🤔

This is one of the most common questions we get asked.

The short answer is usually… ❌ No.

Most standard solar systems automatically shut down during a blackout for safety reasons. This stops power feeding back into the grid while energy crews are working on the lines ⚡

BUT 👀

If your system has:
🔋 A battery system
⚙️ Backup capability
🏠 A dedicated backup circuit

…then certain parts of your home can stay powered during a blackout 👍

Things like:
💡 Lights
🌐 Internet
🧊 Fridge
🔌 Power points
📺 Basic household circuits

Not all battery systems are set up the same, so it’s important to understand exactly what your system can and can’t do during an outage.

If you’ve been thinking about adding battery storage to your solar system, feel free to reach out and we can run through the options with you ☀️🔋

✨ Small outdoor lighting upgrade with a big difference 👌

We added a blue LED strip to this outdoor bar area along with a new wall light above the BBQ space to help brighten things up without harsh or blinding light 🔵💡

Outdoor lighting doesn’t always need to be over the top. Sometimes subtle lighting creates the best atmosphere for entertaining, relaxing and making the space more usable at night 🍻🔥

Simple, clean and effective 👌

💡 Fresh downlight upgrade for this home ✨

We replaced all the old 70mm halogen downlights throughout the house with new 90mm LED downlights and also added a few extra fittings to brighten the space up properly 👌

The new LEDs not only look cleaner and more modern, but they’re also:
⚡ More energy efficient
🔥 Run much cooler
💡 Provide better light coverage
🛠️ Lower maintenance and longer lasting

Amazing what a difference lighting can make to a home 🙌

⚡ 5 things to check before calling an electrician ⚡

Sometimes the fix is actually something simple 👌 Before booking a callout, here’s a few quick things worth checking first:

1️⃣ Check if your neighbours have power too
Could be a street outage rather than an issue inside your home.

2️⃣ Try resetting the safety switch
Sometimes a faulty appliance can trip it temporarily.

3️⃣ Unplug appliances one by one
Air fryers, kettles, heaters and older fridges are common culprits 👀

4️⃣ Check for burnt smells or buzzing noises
If you notice either of these, leave it OFF and call an electrician straight away 🚨

5️⃣ See what exactly has stopped working
Is it the whole house? Just lights? Only power points? This helps us diagnose the issue quicker 🔧

A little bit of info before calling can sometimes save you time, money and stress 👍
