A tricky fault finding job we attended in Glenmore Park this week ⚡🔍

The customer was experiencing random circuit tripping throughout the home and after testing and isolating circuits, we tracked the issue back to something you don’t see very often… a failed light globe 💡

Most of the time when a lighting circuit trips, the issue is related to wiring, fittings, moisture or another electrical fault. In this case, the globe itself had internally failed and was causing the breaker to trip intermittently.

Definitely one of those faults that takes a bit of patience to track down, but we got there in the end and had everything back up and running safely 👌

Electrical faults are not always obvious, which is why proper fault finding and testing is so important instead of just replacing random parts.

Fresh renovation fit out completed for this home in Freemans Reach 🔨⚡

This property is being prepared as a rental, so the owners wanted a clean modern finish with reliable products that are going to last long term and minimise future maintenance issues.

We fitted the home out with a range of products throughout the renovation, giving the owners peace of mind with quality gear backed by a strong warranty 🙌

For investment properties, it’s not always about going over the top. Sometimes a simple refresh with modern lighting, switches, power points and updated electrical equipment can completely lift the feel of the home while also improving safety and reliability for future tenants.

Really happy with how this one turned out 👌

These plug in circuit breakers might look like a modern upgrade, but in a lot of cases they can actually create more problems than they solve.

We still come across these regularly where old ceramic fuses have simply been swapped out for plug in breakers without upgrading the rest of the switchboard properly.

The issue is the original fuse boards were never designed for modern circuit breaker protection. Over time, the connections can become loose, overheat and lead to arcing or burning inside the board.

A lot of these older boards also:
⚠️ Have no safety switch protection
⚠️ Have deteriorated internal connections
⚠️ Don’t meet current standards
⚠️ Can become unreliable with nuisance tripping or overheating

A proper switchboard upgrade doesn’t just replace the fuses. It upgrades the entire protection system of the home with RCBO protection, safer connections and compliant equipment designed for today’s electrical loads.

If your home still has an old fuse board or plug in breakers like these, it may be worth getting it checked before issues start showing up.

Big system for a brand new build ⚡️☀️

We’ve just completed an 18.36kW solar system paired with a massive 40kWh Sigenergy battery setup for this home 👌

With Jinko 510W panels on the roof and serious storage behind it, this setup is designed to maximise self consumption, slash power bills, and give the owners real control over their energy use 🔋

During the day, the home runs off solar, excess gets stored in the battery, and when the sun goes down, they’re still covered. Less reliance on the grid, more independence, and long term savings 💰

Safe to say… these guys are sorted for years to come 🙌

Shoutout to for trusting us with the install 🤝

Powering homes with the right tools ⚡

We only use gear we trust — and Major Tech Australia is always in the kit.

On this job, we used:
🔹 A thermal imager to detect hidden hot spots before they become real problems.
🔹 A multifunction tester to make sure everything is running safely and exactly as it should.

It’s not just about fixing issues; it’s about catching them early and giving you peace of mind.

Quality tools. Quality workmanship. No shortcuts.

⚡ Powering homes, one mate at a time.

Something wasn’t quite right with this hot water system… 🔥👀

That melted cable termination is a clear sign of excessive heat and a potential safety risk. Left alone, this could’ve led to a complete failure or worse.

We got it sorted properly for the customer by:
⚡ Replacing the thermostat
⚡ Installing a new heating element
⚡ Repairing the damaged termination
⚡ Upgrading the circuit protection for added safety

Hot water back up and running and a much safer setup moving forward 🙌

If your hot water system is acting up or you’ve noticed anything unusual, it’s always worth getting it checked sooner rather than later.

Sunday tip 💡

Power boards vs proper power points — what’s actually safer?

Power boards are fine for temporary use, but they’re not designed to handle long term loads or multiple high draw appliances all at once ⚡️

One thing a lot of people don’t realise is when power boards sit upright or in dusty areas, dust and debris can build up inside over time. This can cause heat and resistance to increase, especially when they’re under load 🔥

Add in loose connections, cheap quality boards or overloading them, and it’s a recipe for nuisance tripping or worse.

A properly installed power point setup spreads the load safely across circuits and removes the need for overloaded boards altogether 👌

If you’re relying on power boards everywhere, it’s usually a sign you just don’t have enough outlets.

Send us a message and we can sort a safer, cleaner setup 📩

One of those fault finding jobs this week ⚡️

Called out to a tripping lighting circuit at a shed — tracked it back to a motion sensor that hadn’t been sealed properly 🌧️

Water had made its way in and was causing a short between neutral and earth, which is why the circuit kept tripping

Replaced the sensor and sealed everything up properly so it’s protected from the weather and good to go 👌

Lights back on and no more nuisance tripping 💡

Bit of a different one for today 🐠⚡️

Installed 8 double power points to suit this saltwater fish tank setup — all designed around what was actually needed after assessing the load and equipment 🧠

We came up with a neat solution tucked away behind the cupboard, keeping everything in one central spot and well clear of any filters or water 👌

Clean, practical and safe setup for a pretty serious tank!

Sunday tip 💡

Off peak hot water — what is it actually doing?

Traditionally, off peak tariffs heat your hot water system overnight when electricity demand is lower and power is cheaper 🌙⚡️

Sounds good… but you’re still paying for that electricity every night.

Now if you’ve got solar on your home, you’re generating power during the day ☀️
Instead of exporting that energy back to the grid for a small return, you can use it to heat your hot water system during the day — essentially using your own power instead of buying it.

In a lot of cases, this means you may not need off peak at all and can run your hot water far more efficiently 👌

Every setup is different, but if you’ve got solar and you’re still on off peak, it’s definitely worth looking into.
